  The 2011 Kia Sorento is redesigned with freshened styling, new engines, and new features. This SUV is a crossover that shares elements of its basic design with the Santa Fe produced by Kia's corporate parent, Hyundai.
  The 2003-2009 Sorento was a 5-passenger SUV that used traditional truck-type construction. Trim levels for the 2011 model include LX, uplevel EX, and sporty SX. LX and EX offer a 175-horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder. Available on those and standard on the SX is a 276-horsepower 3.5-liter V6. All Sorentos offer front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. A 6-speed automatic is the sole transmission. The Base trim level and 6-speed manual transmission have been discontinued. Maximum towing capacity is 3,500 pounds. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, an antiskid system, curtain-side airbags that cover the first two seating rows, and front-side airbags. All 4-cylinder models have standard 5-passenger seating. Optional on 4-cylinder models and standard on V6 versions is a 3rd-row bench seat that increases capacity to 7. A Convenience Package for the LX includes rear-obstacle detection, rearview camera, and fog lights. A Premium Package for the EX includes leather upholstery, heated front seats, rearview camera, and on V6 models, a panoramic sunroof. A Limited Package for the EX includes a navigation system, uplevel audio system, and chrome wheels. DVD entertainment is optional on the EX V6 and versions so equipped cannot be ordered with a sunroof. SX models have specific trim and a sport suspension. Many of the features that are optional on the EX are standard on the SX, including leather, heated front seats, navigation, and rearview camera.
