Mazda reveals more of the refreshed 2011 Mazda6

After its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, specifications and official images of the refreshed 2011 Mazda6 have been revealed by the Japanese carmaker.

The mid-size sedan now bears a sportier look thanks to a reworked fascia featuring a new grille, bumper with larger air intakes and new fog lamp inserts and headlights. At the back, new taillights distinguish the new model from its predecessor.
Apart from these cosmetic changes new engine options will be made available including a 2.0-litre direct-injection petrol unit which is claimed to be more fuel efficient and more environment friendly than the current 2.0-litre motor.
Updated versions of the Mazda MZR 1.8 and 2.5-litre engines will also be introduced.
The new Mazda6 also gets a revised chassis set-up and new active safety features like an adaptive front lighting system and hill-launch assist. New wheel options and a piano black interior trim are also expected.
