Jaguar to Reveal XJ Hybrid with Limo-Green Concept

Jaguar XJ
Jaguar has recently confirmed that it was readying a series of hybrid system similar to the one used in the Chevrolet Volt. The hybrid will used for its next-generation XJ flagship.
According to Autocar, Jaguar will reveal the hybrid system in a concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The project will be called the Limo-Green concept; the showcar will be based on Jaguar’s latest XJ sedan

The Limo-Green concept will have a 145kw, 295 lb-ft of torque electric motor that will only be used for propulsion, the system will be ran by a lithium-ion battery pack. Once the battery power is gone, a 1.2L Lotus gas engine will take over the reigns. This will give the car a total range of 600 miles.
“The technology is still in its infancy and there is still a lot of work to do before we can even think of production,” Anthony Harper, head of research at Jaguar Land Rover, told Autocar. “The components aren’t at the right cost or quality yet you would expect of a Jaguar product, but the technology is there.”
