Jaguar is setting to release a new version of the XK sports car by 2013. The new XK is expected to have a total body revision and an all-new powerplant for those who want more performance with better fuel economy.
The next-generation XK is reportedly to sport a 3.0 liter twin turbo V6 diesel which is capable of spitting out 300 horsepower. And with the new engine, the torque of the latest XK should also be boosted up, making the car zoom from zero to 60 in under 5 seconds
With the few but considerably significant revisions, Jaguar is expecting a boost in the annual sales of the XK to between 10,000 and 12,000 units. The XK diesel will be contesting the best-selling vehicle in the class—the BMW 635d.
